The Zaanse Schans is a neighbourhood in Zaandam and is a well-known outdoor attraction. It's not really a museum, but it is designed to preserve the historical heritage. The houses at the Zaanse Schans are occupied by residents. Apart from the mills, a shipyard, a wooden shoe factory, a bakery museum to visit, there is also a replica of the 1st Albert Heijn store. In addition to the Zaanse Schans is the Zaans Museum.

Intinerary
From the busy Amsterdam, we drive through the countryside to the picturesque village of Zaanse schans.
Zaanse Schans is situated 25 km from Amsterdam and 35 km from Schiphol Airport. The journey time is around 25 minutes and 25 minutes back.
